For Trex: a promotion with punch
Trex is the dominant manufacturer of wood-plastic composite lumber, primarily for decks, docks, outdoors walkways, and other applications that call for years of maintenance-free utility. Their distributors and representatives are big fans of NASCAR, so it was only natural that we could create a Driving Experience promotion for them. We incorporated many of the same elements and appeals we’d used in similar promotions for other clients (waste not, want not) and pulled off what is arguably the most successful promotion of its kind in Trex’s decade-long history. The excitement generated by this promotion sparked increased orders of lumber from distributors and contractors, due to the extra pressure Trex’s sales representatives absorbed from this promotion (push) and the extra quantities specified by distributors and retailers.
