It's Your Business, Drive It!
Whenever the day gets a little long, we pray one of our favorite clients will call and say, “Let’s do a Parts or Service Manager promotion.” Yeah! For fun, universal participation, enthusiasm, increased product sales, and “remember when” payback, you can’t beat a promotion that combines competition, excitement, great prizes, and the chance to hammer home your message month after month.
For example, this Mobil “It's Your Business, Drive It!” promotion for Freightliner parts managers was designed to increase sales of Delvac lubricants to customers of Freightliner truck dealerships, and minimize shop inventory needs.
We designed the 5-month promotion to reward the top 15 parts managers who showed the greatest increase in sales of Mobil lubes against the same period the year before, with a top prize of a seat in the Richard Petty Driving Experience – a race driver training experience in a 650 horsepower NASCAR Cup-style race car.
Letters, announcement flyers, posters, prizes, entertainment, hospitality elements were all detailed in a colorful “briefing book”. We also included a large promotion calendar to hang on the wall of each Freightliner service area as a daily reminder to “move Mobil lubricants”!
The promotion was a huge success, with sales up substantially versus the same period the year before. It paid for itself many times over!
